RESUMEN: En este capítulo se analiza el mar y, en particular, el mar Mediterráneo, teniendo en cuenta el suministro y el transporte de energía. En la primera parte del capítulo se explican las diferentes fuentes de energía renovable marina, a la vez que se introducen sus potenciales impactos sobre el medio ambiente y los ecosistemas del área mediterránea. En la segunda parte, se presentan el transporte de energía y sus infraestructuras necesarias, debidamente enmarcadas en el tránsito hacia una Economía Azul sostenible, considerando también retos y oportunidades.

ABSTRACT: In this chapter, the sea and, in particular, the Mediterranean Sea, is analysed considering the supply and transport of energy. In the first part of this chapter the different sources of marine renewable energy 52 are explained, while its potential impacts on the environment and the ecosystems of the Mediterranean area are also introduced 53. In the second part, the energy transport and their required infrastructures will be exposed, duly framed in the move for a sustainable Blue Economy, also considering challenges and opportunities.
